The newly formed region of Wallonia is to form an interim government, a spokeswoman for the newly proclaimed state said following four terrorist attacks in Northern Belgium led to the nation splitting in two.
“We are in the middle of dealing with the fact we are now two different countries. Our first steps are to get an interim government together to deal with the problems of co-ordination and collaboration with security and the right economic situation.
“We are Wallonia,” the spokeswoman continued. “We are in a pretty difficult economic situation is comparison to Flanders. All of the future issues that we will face are going to be restrained by what our capacity is as a new country.
The spokeswoman said intelligence has not yet discovered the origin of the attackers.
“Most of the parameters of the attacks are unclear to us. Sim control hasn’t actually given us very much information.”
