Representatives of France and Belgium meet to discuss plans.
French delegates met with Belgian officials to discuss the possibility of establishing an intelligence coalition. Belgium proposed the deal this afternoon.
France is open to having embedded intelligence officers on both sides and is awaiting approval. Leader of the Belgian Delegation Jocelyn Bell says, “The ball is in France’s court.”
The two sides also discussed the immigration of refugees from the “Calais Jungle” into Belgium, with Belgium pushing for more available intelligence for both sides, in an attempt to protect from possible terrorist threats.
The proposed idea for collecting intelligence could one day expand past France and Belgium, into Germany and The Netherlands, but for now, would only include the two countries.
