U.S. not focusing on its own internal politics during Burma crisis

U.S. Representative Travis Cady said the U.S. is working to facilitate the establishment of a “stable and peaceful resolution” where all parties are equitably represented amid the crisis in Burma.

“We are not political,” Cady said. “We are here to help and make sure we can prevent the loss of life and an equitable solution.”

The U.S. is still in a bilateral relationship with China to work toward a resolution in the crisis.

Cady said his office is working on behalf of the President and the American people to make sure this conflict is resolved.

“We have the responsibility of making sure these talks go smoothly,” Cady said. “And for the United States personnel still on the ground, we don’t want to speak out of turn.”
