For the eighth consecutive year, the students of the University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Telecommunications and the elite Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce are readying their 24-hour crisis simulation exercise.
The exercise will take place in Lexington, Ky. on the University campus and on this website from Feb. 27-28. Students in the Journalism School will play the world press and the graduate students from the Patterson School will deploy policy decisions as they play U.S. and international leaders, NGOs, businesses, militaries and other actors.
The rigorous multimedia event really tests the students’ knowledge of breaking news protocols and news judgment.
Professors Kakie Urch and Scoobie Ryan work alongside the students during the sim. Professor Robert Farley coordinates the diplomacy students and faculty.
