The World Health Organization confirmed Friday that 52 Syrian citizens are dead in the city of Sadad. Sadad, located in the western portion of Syria, is near the eastern Lebanon border.
“We don’t take political positions. We want access to everyone,” said a representative from the WHO. “We are neutral and more concerned with the humanitarian issues there.”
The Syrian government said the massacre was enacted by a terrorist organization.
According to a press release issued on Friday, “the government of Syria strongly condemns the actions of Western backed terrorists in massacring 52 innocent Syrian citizens in the city of Sadad. … The government of Syria will continue to fight medieval barbarism wherever it is encountered, and calls on foreign governments to cease supporting these terrorists.”
