The Turkish government and the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR) are working together to build refugee camps in response to the waves of Syrian citizens crossing  the border.  This camp will provide protection from the imminent winter conditions to the thousands of refugees awaiting asylum in Turkey. The UNHCR will advise Turkey officials on the construction of permanent, sustainable shelters in anticipation of more refugees throughout the year. The WHO and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)  sent a large shipment of blankets to distribute to refugee camps
