As police and fire race to the scene of a massive explosion, now thought to be a car bomb at the entrance of the Bellagio casino at Las Vegas and Bellagio Drive, scanner reports are now redirect some forces to a new command center at the Flamingo Ave. entrance.
There is no response at the Bellagio main office or main cashier’s window. MGM did not return calls for comment. The mayor’s office says it is “aware” of what are reported to be massive plumes of smoke and fire emanating from the luxury hotel, but declined comment until a briefing from police and fire on the scene could be provided.
